Sunny Sabin

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Sunny Sabin

Sunny was born-and-raised in Phoenix, Arizona, and for her version of an “out-of-state” experience, she headed all the way to Tucson to attend the University of Arizona, where she studied Illustration and Graphic Design.

She considers design her “high-school-sweetheart” since she first fell in love with it at her high school’s amazing graphic design program when she was 16. As someone who’s always loved drawing, she was naturally “drawn” toward the illustration track at U of A and even flirted with the idea of becoming a children’s book illustrator after graduation. In the end, she found the right balance in graphic design, where she can still incorporate illustration into her work while receiving a steady paycheck.

Graduating at the peak of COVID meant things got a little… creative. Sunny bounced between retail, an internship, and another Valley agency before landing at Rethinc.

Sunny Sabin Bass

Outside of work, Sunny has recently taken up the bass guitar and performs with her cover band, “Vinyl Destination”. She also enjoys spending time with her cat “Ozzie” who, despite her interest in music, is not named after Ozzy Osbourne. She says his name is inspired by a mix of Frank Oz, the font Oswald, and a Percy Shelley poem.

  • Can solve a Rubik’s Cube in under a minute
  • Is left-handed (but plays bass right-handed)
  • Beatboxed in an all-female a cappella group in college
  • Has a 1000+ day streak on Duolingo

Life’s like a movie, write your own ending. Keep believing. Keep pretending.”
