A Prime Holiday Remix
The holidays are upon us and the pressure of adapting a holiday limerick into something clever is weighing heavy on me. Adding to my creative anxiety is an untimely bout with Covid which has robbed me of my sense of smell, taste, and ability to leave my room. Apparently, it also clouds your thinking, which may be evident with my attempt to poke fun at one of the largest, most successful companies in the world.
Read to the tune of UP ON THE HOUSETOP…
Up on the laptop just in time
Out jumps good ol Amazon Prime
Down through the driveway, it’s no frills
And quite suddenly, lots of bills
Ho, ho ho! Who wouldn’t go? Ho, ho ho! Who wouldn’t go?
Up on your laptop, click, click, click
Down through the street comes your brown box pick
Two weeks out, supply chain hell
Can’t get gifts, it makes you yell
All my stuff off the coast it lies
Makes me want to scream and cry
Ho, ho, ho! Who wouldn’t go? Ho, ho, ho! Who wouldn’t go?
Up on your laptop, click, click, click
Down through the street comes your brown box pick
Next comes your groceries, what a sham
Looks like your fruit has turned to jam
The driver that drops off stops and laughs
He ate your cookies and hasn’t had a bath
Ho, ho ho! Who wouldn’t go? Ho, ho, ho! Who wouldn’t go?
Up on your laptop, click, click, click
Down through the street comes your brown box pick
Happy Holidays, Everyone!
